Well, we just can’t seem to get the Best Bets series back on the right track. Gerrit Cole throws a near-flawless game, and the Yankees still find a way to lose late in bonus baseball. Meanwhile, in Kansas City, the 60-win Rays were bested by the 27-win Royals. Brady Singer pitched well, but at the end of the day, the Rays beat themselves. They couldn’t get anything going on offense and Zach Eflin had a horrible start. Getting pulled after three innings pitched, coughing up seven hits, and five earned runs. An all-around disappointing day.

He faced a Reds’ lineup that is still licking its wounds after being swept by the Brewers, a team that completely out-classed the Reds with its stellar pitching.

Our second play of the day sees two teams that are on completely opposite trajectories face off. We could see this picture completely change in a matter of weeks if the Shohei Ohtani trade rumors are true. We will be fading the Yankees today as they are entrusting Luis Severino to lead them to victory. I don’t think Severino could even lead a conga line successfully.
