The 2020 MLB Draft is like no draft to come before it. The decrease in number of rounds will cause teams to need to make some tough decisions on who to select.
On top of that, there is the rule that any player that goes undrafted may sign for $20,000. That adds another layer of strategy to the draft.
One thing for sure is that this draft will be rich in pitching depth, specifically college pitching depth. It is very possible that typical first-round pitching talent will slip to the second round because of how deep the field is.
Despite the odd circumstances, it is certain to be another exciting year for the future of baseball.
