Sony’s MLB The Show will no longer be a PlayStation exclusive as it was announced that the award-winning video game will be available on other platforms as early as 2021. While it is not confirmed, it is believed that the new platforms include Microsoft’s Xbox, PC, and the Nintendo Switch. The game is developed by the Sony-owned San Diego Studio, and until now, the series has always been exclusive to PlayStation.
It was also announced that MLB, the MLBPA, and Sony entered into multi-year extensions to continue development and distribution of The Show. More details will be announced at a later date.

Sony’s MLB The Show Will No Longer Be a PlayStation Exclusive
Once 2k canceled their MLB series in 2014, there hasn’t been a major baseball franchise available for Xbox, Nintendo or PC. Baseball titles such as RBI Baseball and Super Mega Baseball are available on these platforms, but they aren’t on the same level as The Show.
The arrival of the The Show to other consoles will finally give players a meaningful choice about where they play video game baseball. As a result, the game should receive higher sales, and in turn, allow San Diego Studio to further improve the game. This should also help Major League Baseball promote their real product on the field to new audiences.
In the meantime, the developers are focused on the release of MLB The Show 20, which is set to launch exclusively on PlayStation March 17th, 2020. This release will mark 15 years of the The Show, and the upcoming title is highlighted by new gameplay features and promotions. In addition, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Báez will be the cover athlete.
