The New York Mets have acquired starting pitcher Marcus Stroman from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for pitching prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson. Jon Morosi was the first to break the news. Stroman has pitched to a 6-11 record and a 2.96 ERA in 2019.

Review of Stroman’s Career With the Blue Jays
Stroman, out of Duke University, has been a Toronto Blue Jay his entire career. After being selected as the 22nd overall pick by the Blue Jays in 2012, Stroman made his MLB debut in 2014. He would go on to have an impressive rookie campaign for the Jays, compiling an 11-6 record and a 3.65 ERA in 130.2 IP.
2015-16
After an impressive rookie season, things didn’t go as planned for Stroman in 2015. Not because he didn’t pitch well, but because of a torn ACL which required him to undergo surgery. Stroman would only make four starts, but he picked up where he left off — posting a 4-0 record and 1.67 ERA in 27 IP. The Jays hurler returned to health in 2016, pitching 204 innings. However, Stroman had his fair share of struggles on the mound. He finished the year with a 9-10 record and a 4.37 ERA, as well as giving 21 home-runs and a 41.9% hard-hit rate — which ranked in the bottom 3% of the league.
2017
In 2017, Stroman returned to dominance with a career year. He finished the season with a 13-9 record and a 3.09 ERA — which ranked 9th in MLB. Stroman also finished 8th in the CY Young race and won the American League Gold Glove for pitchers.
2018
The Blue Jays ace was hoping to duplicate this success in 2018. However, Stroman started the season 0-5 with a 7.71 ERA before being placed on the disabled list due to right shoulder fatigue. After returning to the Jays, he would also deal with blister problems which caused him to miss more time. He would finish the 2018 season with a 4-9 record and 5.54 ERA.
