Jameson Taillon began undergoing treatment for testicular cancer on Monday, May 8. The Pirates had moved him to the 10-day DL for groin discomfort before the report of his treatment. No timeline is currently set for his return to the bump.

Injury History
This treatment is another difficult moment in the 25-year-old hurler’s career. Taillon had Tommy John surgery in 2014 while he was in the minors. In 2015, he underwent surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. Last season, his first in the majors, he took a Hernan Perez line drive off of head. Perez’s line drive clocked an exit velocity of 105 MPH. Tallison’s hard-nosed obsession with being a major league pitcher will bring him back to the mound soon.

Tallison has started six games for the Pirates this season, posting a record of 2 – 1. His ERA sits at 3.31 and his WHIP at 1.330 this year. He has struck out 30 and walked only 13.
Lindblom activated
The Pirates purchased the contract of Josh Lindblom from the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians. Lindblom has made four starts for Indiapolis, throwing 18.0 innings with a record of 0-2. His ERA for Indianapolis is 2.50, and he owns a WHIP of 1.06. However, he did surrender an average of one home run per nine innings in Triple-A.
Testicular Cancer
Approximately 8,720 new diagnoses for testicular cancer will occur this year. The average age of diagnosis is 33. The disease can spread from the testes to the lymph nodes and other areas of the body. Around 380 men will die this year from this disease.
