Week Two Start ’em, Sit ’em for CFL Fantasy

Week Two

Week Two kicks off in Ottawa on Thursday, so set your CFL TSN Fantasy lineups! Check out these starts and sits of the week!

Start ‘em

Mike Reilly, Edmonton – $14000

Mike Reilly was so dominant last week, he scored more than the second and third highest scoring quarterbacks combined. The Eskimos defence has already been decimated by injury, meaning he will again have to throw a lot to give his team a chance to win. Find a way to get him in your lineup.

Andrew Harris, Winnipeg – $5755

As the price of other fantasy options in Winnipeg went up, Harris’ went down. This just makes him more valuable to the savvy fantasy player. Harris had the third most touches of any non-quarterback last week and should be equally involved against Montreal.

Brad Sinopoli, Ottawa – $3229

Sinopoli has had two consecutive seasons of 90 receptions or more, making him a valuable commodity in PPR format fantasy. While the former Gee-Gee doesn’t score a ton of touchdowns, he’s consistent. His 77% catch rate over the last three seasons gives Brad Sinopoli a nearly bust-proof baseline.

Derel Walker, Edmonton – $6534

In case you forgot, Walker scored 31.2 points last week. His price went up, but he should see a ton of targets again against Hamilton. Keep an eye on whether Delvin Breaux gets into the lineup for Hamilton. If not, Walker has his sights set on another high-end performance.

DaVaris Daniels, Calgary – $3942

Daniels’ two receptions belied his involvement in Calgary’s offence. With seven targets, DaVaris Daniels was the second most targeted player for the Stampeders, and Bo Levi Mitchell’s galling completion percentage is sure to regress to the mean. In a winnable matchup against Alden Darby, Daniels has an opportunity to provide excellent value on his reasonable cap hit.

Ottawa REDBLACKS Defence – $3200

If you’re wanting to get Mike Reilly in your lineup, you’re going to have to cut costs somewhere. Ottawa was an above-average defence in 2017 that added Louchiez Purifoy, Rico Murray, AC Leonard and Kyries Hebert. Ottawa’s opponent, Saskatchewan, is moving their most explosive weapon in Duron Carter to defensive back to cover injuries, making the matchup appealing.

Sit ‘em

BJ Cunningham, Montreal – $3888

Cunningham had a solid season despite below average quarterback play, but he didn’t have a great start to 2018. He wasn’t heavily utilized as three of Cunningham’s four receptions came in a single drive in the final two minutes of the game. A difficult matchup against Anthony Gaitor in Week Two limits Cunningham’s upside.

Eric Rogers, Calgary – $5771

Rogers had four targets in the Stampeders win last week, but he is still overpriced. He could be a very productive fantasy asset in a few weeks, but at this stage, you should not be comfortable committing 14% of your budget to him.

$2500 Bargain of the Week

Mike Jones, Hamilton

Jones is a great upside pick this week. Masoli looked to him frequently, and the Eskimos secondary looked beatable against the rookie Chris Streveler. Aaron Grymes returning to his boundary halfback position won’t affect Mike Jones’ favourable matchup. While repeating 120 yards isn’t likely, look for Mike Jones to once again out-produce his cap hit in Week Two.
