Massachusetts Pirates Join NAL

The Massachusetts Pirates are official as they announced today that they will be playing in the 2018 National Arena League (NAL) season.

Massachusetts Pirates Join NAL

In a meeting on Wednesday, November 14 2017, the Massachusetts have confirmed that they will play football for the NAL.

The Pirates now puts the league at five confirmed teams, but many more could be to come. The league hasn’t announced anything else in the meeting on any other teams that are joining the league.

Almost every NAL fan was expecting this because of the post that they made on October 7. The post that they made was taken down. The league wanted this to be a surprise instead of news that should be spread instantly.

There is no known fine or penalty toward the team for releasing any disclosed information to the public.

The arena that the Pirates will be playing in is the DCU Center. The arena holds a maximum of 14,800 seats. This arena has held an arena team in previous years, hosting the New England Surge. The Surge was in the Continental Indoor Football League from 2007 to 2008.

The arena also holds other events such as basketball, hockey, now football, and is also used as a meeting center, which means that it is basically open to the public for a lot of things.

Members and fans who attended the meeting got free tee-shirts. Any Massachusetts Pirates season ticket holders will have a gas discount to any gas station, so if you drive around a lot, this would be very beneficial.

National Arena League Future

So far, there is no news for a schedule release. Rumor has it that it could be any time before the end of next week, so be sure to stick around for that.

In the live stream on the NAL Facebook page, Jeff Bouchy, Jacksonville Sharks owner and NAL Expansion Chairman, stated that the Greensboro Press Conference should be held the week after Thanksgiving. He also stated that Orlando and Monterrey have 5-7 days to make their decision upon joining the league.

As always, you can rely on the LWOS Indoor Football Twitter Page for all updates.
