For Champions Indoor Football (CIF), it has been quite the eventful off-season so far.

First, the Dodge City Law have decided they will fold for the 2018 season. The Quad City Steamwheelers have entered the league.

Now, add the CenTex Cavalry to the list of offseason moves.

Earlier today, the Cavalry announced that they will not compete in the CIF during the 2018 season. In a release, the Cavalry had this to say to fans.

“With great regret, the CENTEX CALVALRY FOOTBALL TEAM Will not be playing in the CIF 2018 season. Due to personal reasons, we are putting the team on hold. It is our Intention on getting ready for the 2019 season in the CIF. We are going to be searching for partners and organizing the team.

It has been our pleasure on working with the Bell Expo Center and the communities of Central Texas. We thank you for your support and look forward to serving you in the future. For any questions or concerns should be directed to [email protected].”

The Cavalry was an expansion team in 2017 along with the West Michigan Ironmen and the Kansas City Phantoms.

In the Cavalry’s first and potentially only season, the team was placed in the south conference.

In the 12 games of their regular season, the team, didnt see a lot of success, and really none at all. They finished 0-12.

With the offseason still going on and teams holding tryouts in the CIF, it will be interesting to see which other current teams will stay in the league, and which teams have decided to fold.

Plus, if there are several more new teams entering the CIF in 2018, then things could start getting even crazier. Stay tuned for more information on indoor football as well as the CIF by following LWOS Indoor Football on twitter at @LWOS_IndoorFB.
