Schilling Shoots His Mouth Off Again

Former MLB Pitcher & ESPN analyst Curt Schilling has done it again.  In an interview Tuesday with 610 Sports in Kansas City, Schilling said he believes Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton should go to jail for using a private email server.

Schilling made the remarks even after ESPN told employees in January to refrain from political talk especially since this is an election year.

Schilling said the following on “The Drive With Danny & CDot Show”, “I hope she does. If I’m gonna believe, and I don’t have any reason not to believe, that she gave classified information on hundreds if not thousands of emails on a public server after what happened to General Petraeus, she should be buried under a jail somewhere.”

“If she’s allowed to get to the general election before she’s in prison, I’ll be stunned and upset,” Schilling said. “Because I think she’s shown her true colors all along the way, and I’ll ask you this: Do you see her being anything even remotely different than what we’ve had?”

“I don’t care what her titles are. She’s done nothing. She’s done absolutely nothing to further the success of the middle class. She jumps on the backs of people who she wants to be dependent on government. She needs these people to be dependent on her.”

General David Petraeus plead guilty last year to a misdemeanor and spent no time in prison after admitting to mishandling classified information.

But wait, there’s more.  Schilling decided to ‘double down’ by offering his views on GOP Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, “Listen, he hasn’t elaborated, like, on two sentences for a policy. ‘We’re going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it.’ Okay, how? ‘Well, I’ll tell you later.’ There has been no depth to anything he’s said. But, look at the turnout. Look at the response, absolutely staggering to me. The only thing that tells me is people are sick and tired of the status quo, sick and tired of the lying, sick and tired of the manipulating.”

ESPN representatives have said they are ‘addressing’ the comments made by Schilling.

Schilling lost his position as an analyst on ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” last summer after posting a meme that compared Muslims to Nazis.  Schilling was to be a part of the network’s “Monday Night Baseball” broadcasts this upcoming MLB Season.  Obviously that is now in question.

Schilling is a very competent analyst.  I enjoy his insight into the game. The combo of John Kruk, Dan Shulman and Schilling made for a very good broadcast.  However his inability to keep from spouting off about political issues may very well cost him his job with the “Worldwide Leader In Sports”.  Freedom Of Speech protects your right to say whatever you please; it does not protect you from punishment or termination by your employer for expressing said views.
