Another week of college basketball is in the books. As promised, here is my college basketball Top 25 after Week 11 of the season:

Another week of college basketball is in the books. As promised, here is my college basketball Top 25 after Week 11 of the season:

College Basketball Top 25: Week 11

  1. Oklahoma (Previous: 2)

Record: 15-1
Week Record: 2-0

Even though one of their wins came over West Virginia because of a *lucky* tip-in from Khadeem Latin, there is no question that Oklahoma is one of the best teams in the country, and the most deserving for the top spot this week.

  1. Kansas Jayhawks (1)

Record: 15-2
Week Record: 1-1

Kansas slipped up a bit this week with a tough road loss to West Virginia, but that is not enough reason to drop them any farther than this. Bill Self will get his guys back on track.

  1. North Carolina Tar Heels (3)

Record: 16-2
Week Record: 1-0

In what was a quiet week for the North Carolina Tar Heels, holding their spot at No. 3 was not a tough task. Their win over NC State was textbook.

  1. Villanova Wildcats (6)

Record: 16-2
Week Record: 2-0

It really feels like Villanova has a stranglehold over the Big East again this year, even though there are a bunch of good teams fighting for spots in the standings.

  1. Xavier Musketeers (7)

Record: 16-1
Week Record: 2-0

Xavier’s great start at the beginning of the year had a “feel good story” to it, but they just keep on winning.

  1. SMU Mustangs (9)

Record: 17-0
Week Record: 2-0

SMU still does not get the recognition it deserves in the polls, but they have a legitimate chance of going undefeated.

  1. West Virginia Mountaineers (11)

Record: 15-2
Week Record: 1-1

It is fair to argue that West Virginia should be higher here; the Mountaineers have the best defense in the country right now.

  1. Iowa Hawkeyes (12)

Record: 14-3
Week Record: 2-0

Iowa continues to roll with huge wins over Michigan State and Michigan this week.

  1. Maryland Terrapins (4)

Record: 16-2
Week Record: 1-1

Maryland lost a tough road game against Michigan this week, but are still a talented bunch that deserves to be in the top ten.

  1. Pittsburgh Panthers (13)

Record: 15-2
Week Record: 1-1

This is the one team that I was not sure to put in my top ten, but their loss to Louisville came at the hands off a tough defense and poor shooting night. Still a believer in this Pittsburgh team. (It does not help that seemingly no other team wanted to jump into the top ten this week.)

  1. Arizona Wildcats (16) (15-3)
  2. Michigan State Spartans (5) (16-3)
  3. Texas A&M Aggies (17) (15-2)
  4. Virginia Cavaliers (18) (13-4)
  5. South Carolina Gamecocks (14) (16-1)
  6. Baylor Bears (21) (14-3)
  7. Louisville Cardinals (23) (14-3)
  8. Miami Hurricanes (8) (13-3)
  9. Duke Blue Devils (10) (14-4)
  10. Providence Friars (15) (15-3)
  11. Butler Bulldogs (24) (13-4)
  12. Purdue Boilermakers (22) (15-3)
  13. Indiana Hoosiers (UnR) (15-3)
  14. Iowa State Cyclones (19) (13-4)
  15. Valparaiso Crusaders (UnR) (15-3)

T26. Southern California, Clemson

Dropped Out: No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats, No. 25 UConn Huskies
