LWOS College Football Week 8 Top 25

Ohio State and Clemson both rolled on the road while Utah's unbeaten run ended at the hands of USC. How did these results impact our week 8 top 25 rankings?

After a dominating performance Saturday night, Ohio State remains the top-ranked team in Last Word On Sports college football top 25. Nipping at their heels in second is the Baylor Bears, who dispatched Iowa State over the weekend but received some unfortunate news after the game, with their quarterback Seth Russell having suffered a fracture in his neck. It will be interesting to see how Baylor responds on the field if he’s forced to miss significant time.

Clemson was one of the bigger movers in our standings after handing Miami the worst loss in their program’s history. The Tigers are clearly the class of the ACC at this point, and should firmly be in the College Football Playoff if they run the table.

After owning the number two spot, Utah plummets nine places this week as a result of a fairly comprehensive defeat at the hands of Southern Cal. The loss means Stanford appears to be in the driver’s seat out of the Pac-12 if they can continue winning. Who would’ve predicted that after their week one loss to Northwestern?
