Hammer 238 –  Maia vs LaFlare Preview and More

UFC Fight Night: Maia vs LaFlare takes place this weekend in Rio De Janeiro, and  Stand And Bang Radio’s Aaron Robbins joins us once again to preview a show that has some interesting elements to it despite a few of the biggest fights having being cancelled due to injury.

We also check out some of the week’s MMA news including some upcoming UFC matchmaking, a couple of high profile Bellator drug test failures, and World Series of Fighting signing their very own Superhero.

Finally we look back at last weekend’s UFC 185: Pettis vs. Dos Anjos, an event that crowned two new UFC Champions and set the stage for many more big fights down the line.

Listen to us Wednesday nights at 6:30pm on CFMU 93.3 FM, and online at http://www.thehammermma.com, Last Word On Sports, The Itunes Store, Stitcher, MMAPodcast.com, find @SteveJeffery on Twitter, or just email us.

The Hammer features long time internet superstar and LWOS writer Steve Jeffery, prediction guru Greg Persson and is hosted by MMA aficionado Dave Abraham.

The Hammer has had interviews with some of the biggest names in MMA over the years, including Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, Matt Hughes, BJ Penn, Dan Henderson, Sean Sherk, Mark Coleman, Rory MacDonald, Brendan Schaub, Mark Bocek, John Makdessi, Mark Hominick, Martin Kampmann, Johnny Hendricks, TJ Grant, Miesha Tate, and others.

They continue to bring unparalleled, independent coverage of all things MMA to fans of the sport and they always bring you straight goods and the last word. They are recognized and credentialed by UFC, Bellator, Invicta, and many other smaller MMA promotions.

The show is one of the voters for the UFC’s Official Rankings, and you can check out their articles, right here at LWOS, explaining the thought processes they go through in making changes to their ballots after every UFC show.
