After falling to Chile 3-2 in their first match of 2015, the USMNT has returned state side. The 24-man squad (with the addition of Marc Pelosi) will train at the Stub Hub Center this week in preparation for their February 8 match up with CONCACAF rival Panama. This will be Panama’s first match of 2015. They are scheduled to host Costa Rica in a friendly on March 31.
While Los Canaleros had already begun this past week, their 21-man roster was just announced. The roster included three MLS based players and six players who just partook in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Jamaica.
LA Galaxy goalkeeper Jaime Penedo, FC Dallas striker Blas Perez, and Colorado Rapids DP forward Gabby Torres were included in the squad. Penedo is coming off winning MLS Cup with the Galaxy in which he started 29 matches and made 81 saves, including several spectacular ones. Super Ratón recorded 11 goals and six assists, and maintained his physical and scrappy #9 reputation for FCD. Torres had three goals and an assist for Colorado, but spent much of the season out due to injury.
