Fuel it Up Charlotte: Johnson's Track?, Aggressive Busch-es?

Welcome to “Fuel It Up”!  The racing world is chock full of intriguing stories, but sifting through them to get a good general sense of the landscape can be challenging.  In Fuel It Up, I take the biggest, more interesting storylines and present them to you in a quick, compact 300-words-or-less format.

 

The winner of this week’s paint scheme award is the #20 Dollar General Toyota driven by point’s leader Matt Kenseth……………  This week the series visits another track that Jimmie Johnson seemingly dominates.  Not so fast.  Johnson’s average finish at Charlotte since 2011 is 19.60 with only 1 top 5 finish.  Matt Kenseth meanwhile has an average finish of 10.80 with one top five, a victory in 2011.  The best average finisher among the Chase contenders is Kevin Harvick with a stellar 6.40 average……………  BK racing driver, Travis Kvapil was arrested Tuesday evening after a domestic incident with his wife at his home in Mooresville, North Carolina.  Kvapil was charged with assault on a female and unlawful imprisonment.    BK racing owner, Ron Devine said Kvapil will be behind the #93 Toyota this weekend.…………….  Brad Keselowski is still upset with Kyle Busch for wrecking him at Kansas during the Nationwide race.  “I got wrecked by a dirty driver,”  Keselowski said.  “I am not going to stand for it.”……………  Speaking of Busch’s, Kyle’s brother Kurt also was involved in some hard racing at Kansas with Jeff Gordon the recipient.  The two nearly wrecked each other and Gordon accused Kurt of being overly aggressive.  The two talked after the race and seem to have moved on.  We’ll see…………… The weather forecast for Charlotte Saturday night calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures around 65f (18c)……………  The Bank of America 500 race coverage begins at 7:30 Saturday night in the US on ABC.  In Canada, viewers can see the race starting at 7:30 on TSN.
