Right Gooners, it’s time for the non-believer’s to start believing in a certain Aaron Ramsey. Yes, the same bloke who has been battered around like a rag doll by the Anti-Ramsey Brigade. But after producing numerous high class performance on a consistent basis in the last 6 to 12 months, he has left even the most hardened Anti-Ramsey boaster realizing they were wrong – oh, so very bloody wrong (come on admit it, smile if you want too)!
Yes, I hold my hands up high. Sadly I was one of those ignorant to his skills, but as promised previously I would be over the moon to be proven wrong. Admittedly I couldn’t see what others could. To those who saw what I and the brigade didn’t, respect. I for one salute you.
Remember, our Welsh lad is still only a tender 22-years-old, even though it seems like he’s been around for ages. A lot has happened for the young kid from Wales since that terrible broken leg injury vs. Stoke in 2010, which many wouldn’t have come back from. No doubt it’s been an real uphill struggle of Biblical proportions, but Ramsey in typically honest fashion has put his head down, worked hard with total resiliency and with sheer drive to become the player he is today he has to be commended for that.
The next time we grace the Emirates, we must yell a collective “There’s only one Aaron Ramsey, One Aaron Ramsey”. Come you Gooners at the back, stand up for a player that fully deserves our support and has more than earned it.
So, what are his strengths?
Aaron has a proper lung gushing engine that covers every blade of grass, every game, and lately his football savvy has improved immensely thus saving energy that he would waste in his younger days. One thing that has impressed me more than anything is the Brazilian-like defence-splitting passing now in his arsenal (where the H.E.L.L. did they come from?). Long, short, it doesn’t matter to Aaron. His confidence is at full capacity now that his full repertoire is on show entertaining the masses. This was the player Sir Alex was so desperate to sign, and we’re certainly lucky Wenger won that battle.
So, what makes him special?
His sheer burning desire to succeed is unquestioned. He makes tackles, tracks back all the necessary parts of the game that don’t get the headlines. Amazingly he’s become that important to this Arsenal side, a must, can’t-do-without player. I bet he’s one of the first on Wenger’s team sheet.
Watching him fight and develop into the player we see now has been nothing short of amazing and a sheer joy to behold. There’s not much sentiment left in football these days, but this pulls at the old heart strings. Take that in for a few seconds. Did you smile? I did! Yes, he still has things to learn and places to improve, but I reiterate, he’s only 22. He’s still 4 or 5 years away from the finished article where he reaches his prime. Wow, imagine that!
So after all the negative Arsenal headlines lately it’s time to show your love for Aaron Ramsey with another “There’s only one Aaron Ramsey, there’s only one Aaron Ramsey”. Mr. Ramsey, I am proud to have you as an Arsenal player. Good luck, and may the football gods be kind to you.
Till next time, Up the Gunners!
