Baltimore Ravens to Sign Dallas Clark

Just one day after signing Brandon Stokley, the Baltimore Ravens have added more veteran help to their passing game, agreeing to terms on a one-year contract with Tight End Dallas Clark.  Clark, who was a teammate with Stokley in their Indianapolis days spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Ravens have been looking for tight end help since veteran Dennis Pitta was lost for the season with a hip injury.  Clark provides quarterback Joe Flacco with yet another reliable veteran receiver.

Coach John Harbaugh confirmed the move after Ravens practice, saying “Dallas Clark is on his way to Baltimore right now.”

Clark will undergo a physical at the Ravens’ facilities on Monday and if all goes well will officially sign his contract before the end of the day.

Last season Clark had 47 receptions for 435 yards with four touchdowns.

The 34-year-old has always been more of a pass receiver at tight end than a blocker.  He will compete with Ed Dickson and Visanthe Shiancoe for reps at the tight end spot.

Clark made the Pro Bowl with the Colts in 2009, when he racked up 100 catches for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Over the course of a 10-year NFL career, Clark has 474 catches for 5,322 yards and 50 touchdowns.  He was a member of the Colts team that won Superbowl XLI.

Clark and Stokley have strong connections to the Ravens through their relationship with offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell who coached him in Indianapolis.
