So with one game left I decided to look back over the 2012/2013 season for the good, the bad and the ugly facts of the season.
1. Manchester United won their 20th English League Title.
2. Biggest Home win of the season was Chelsea’s 8-0 victory over Aston Villa.
3. The Highest scoring game of the season featured 10 goals, the final score was Arsenal 7 Newcastle 3.
4. Wigan, Reading and Queens Park Rangers were relegated.
5. The Average League attendance was over 35,000.
6. The Highest attendance of the season was a game featuring Manchester United and Reading with 75,605 in the stands.
7. Lowest attendance Wigan vs. Reading 15,436.
8. Joe Hart kept 18 clean sheets, the most in league this season.
9. Aston Villa, Reading and Wigan only kept 5 clean sheets all season.
10.The 1st goal of the Season was scored by Swansea’s Michu.
11.The bad boys of EPL, being handed the most Red Cards was Arsenal with 5.
12. The team with the most Yellow cards this season was Stoke who were given 76 yellows.
13. Craig Gardner, Luis Suarez and Bradley Johnson all were booked 10 times to lead the league.
14. Steven Pienaar and Steve Sidwell both were Red carded twice this season.
15. The fastest goal of the season went to Arsenal’s Theo Walcott who scored after just 20 seconds vs. Queens Park Rangers.
16. Robin Van Persie was only player to win player of the month twice this season.
17. Tottenham’s Gareth Bale won PFA player of the year.
18. The longest unbeaten run on the season was 18 games achieved by Manchester United.
19. The longest winless run of the season was put in by Queens Park Rangers who went 16 games with a victory.
20. Despite Wigan being relegated they still qualify for next season’s Europa Cup competition after winning the FA cup.
21. Legendary Manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement after 26 years in charge at Manchester United.
22. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez was banned for 10 games for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanović. His suspension will carry over to next season.
23. Frank Lampard became Chelsea’s top scorer ever on 203 and counting.
24. Paul Scholes retired after playing over 700 games for Manchester United.
25. In a strange stat, Manchester United never drew a game at home with 16 wins and 3 losses in their 19 games at Old Trafford.
26. Robin Van Persie was the only player to score 2 hat tricks this season.
27. Juan Mata had 12 assists for Chelsea.
28. Christian Benteke scored 18 goals for Aston Villa.
29. 149 games were decided by a single goal.
30. Only 9 games were won by 5 or more goals.
31. Total Attendance was over 13million fans for Premiership games this season.
32. Manchester United led the league with 28 wins and try for their 29th today.
33. Everton has led the league in draws with 15.
34. Manchester City have only conceded 31 goals on the year.
35. While Wigan have conceded 71 goals for worst in the league.
36. The biggest away win of the season was Liverpool thrashing Newcastle 6-0.
37. Roberto Mancini was sacked by Manchester City, one year to the day that he led the citizens to the title.
38. Daniel Sturridge joined Liverpool from Chelsea for a transfer fee of approximately £12 million.
39. Andre Villa Boas of Spurs was the only man to win Manager of the Month twice.
40. Argentine Mauricio Pochettino became Southampton manager.
41. Paul Lambert left Norwich to join Aston Villa.
42. Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher was Player of the month for September 2012.
43. Stoke only scored 33 goals.
44. Santi Cazorla scored 12 goals in his 1st season in England.
45. Howard Webb reffed the most games with 29.
46. Fulham scored 5 own goals on the season.
47. Aston Villa’s Brad Guzan let in 63 goals for the year.
48. Reading lost the most games with 21.
49. Reading’s Adam Le Fonder scored 7 goals off the bench.
50. Queens Park Rangers only scored 30 goals on the year.
