I grew up in Boston, a diehard Celtics fan. I then graduated from Georgetown University and wrote for the school paper, The Hoya, while watching the men's basketball team lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament year after year. I now live in Los Angeles and teach in South Central L.A. as a second year Teach for America corps member. So far, the California education system doesn't require the students to learn how to calculate true shooting percentage as part of the math curriculum, but I'm trying to change that!
