OHL Champion London Knights Might Be Unstoppable

|

The OHL Final came to a close Wednesday night in St. Catharines as the London Knights scraped out a 1-0 victory over the Niagara IceDogs. Christian Dvorak's goal helped the Knights to sweep the series, as they did the last two in this playoff run, and they were awarded the J. Ross Robertson Cup in front of the few fans in Niagara who stayed to watch. The play of this London team has been nothing short of dominant for weeks now, and truly put themselves among the best OHL teams of all time this month. Now, as they prepare for the Memorial Cup in a week in Red Deer, Alberta, the OHL Champion London Knights look like they might just be unstoppable. READ MORE

London Knights' Matthew Tkachuk Battling Adversity; Steals the Show

“I don’t think anything will stop him.” That was the sentiment from co-captain Christian Dvorak, as the London Knights’ Matthew Tkachuk was praised to no end by his teammates on Saturday evening. The Knights won Game Two of their OHL Championship Series, with a 6-1 drubbing of the Niagara IceDogs. Tkachuk stole the show, recording […] READ MORE

London Knights' Tyler Parsons Making a Case to be Drafted

|

The 2016 OHL Championship Series got underway on Thursday night, with the London Knights beating the Niagara IceDogs 4-1 on home ice. The favoured Knights came out slow, outshot 10-5 in the first period. It was their goalie, Tyler Parsons, who kept them in it at first until the offence started clicking. Eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft, Parsons has shone in the playoffs this year and made a serious case for a team in need of a goaltender to select him. READ MORE

Of course, there are no players remaining on either team from that matchup, but the memory is fresh in the minds of fans on both sides. READ MORE

OHL Western Conference Final: Knights-Otters a Clinic, not a War

|

At this point, the Knights may be unstoppable. They're slated to face the Niagara IceDogs in the OHL Final, who have been riding a hot streak for a month but who had a shaky regular season. The sights must be set now on that series, but thoughts of the opportunity that lies beyond it are creeping into the minds of players. The last time they won the OHL Western Conference Final, they lost in the semi-final of the Memorial Cup - a trophy they haven't won since 2005. It may be premature to call the Knights favourites if they do make it through Niagara, but they'd certainly be heavyweight contenders after this performance. READ MORE

A couple of major heavyweight teams bowed out with a whimper, with both the Kitchener Rangers and Kingston Frontenacs eliminated in four. Now, we're down to a final four that promises to be a serious clash of the titans. READ MORE
