It was 21 years ago when Tiger Woods won his first major championship at Augusta National, winning by a record margin of 12 shots. Flash forward 21 years at East Lake, about a couple of hours away from Augusta, and the Big Cat is once again back in the winner's circle. One year ago, Tiger could barely move and was doubtful if he could ever play golf again. Now, Woods has won his 80th PGA Tour event, only two behind Sam Snead's record of 82 wins. READ MORE
Moving Day at any golf tournament always produces the most intense and dramatic moments. And whenever Tiger Woods is in the mix, the thunderous noise of the patrons can be heard miles away. When Woods opened his third round with six birdies in seven holes, it was a throwback to a time when the Big Cat dominated the sport. Remember the routs at the 1997 Masters or the 2000 U.S. Open when Tiger won by 16 strokes? The second round proved to be more difficult than the first. East Lake started to show its toughness as a golf course, as more players were shooting scores over par. But amidst the blazing quick fairways and greens of East Lake, Tiger shot a brilliant 68 to maintain his position at the top of the leaderboard alongside Justin Rose at 7-under par. READ MORE
While it may seem unconventional to some, this is completely normal in DeChambeau's world. And the golf world needs to take notes and embrace this. Before, DeChambeau's preparation was labeled as "strange," "out there," as he wasn't generating victories.
