In this week’s episode, Ben brings on Michael McColl of AFTN Canada to chat about a busy week for the Whitecaps. The signings of Bruno Gaspar and Caio Alexander, 5 players being called up to the U23 Canada Olympic Qualifying squad, officially announcing that Vancouver’s season will start in Utah, lots of comments made by Marc Dos Santos and Axel Schuster, and a new Assistant Coach.

Ben sits down with the new Assistant Coach, Houston legend Ricardo Clark, at 53:02. The two talk about what Ricardo hopes to accomplish in Vancouver, why he chose the Vancouver job, his ability to develop young players, and more.

Ben Righetti covers the Vancouver Whitecaps for Last Word, as well as for the 90Plus Podcast. 2021 will be Ben’s second season covering the team, despite having watched them since joining the MLS in 2011. A recent graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, Ben wishes to one day cover the game at the highest level. His love for all sports has also landed his a job working with the BC Lions in the CFL, as well as other various freelance work, however nothing will top the beautiful game.

Sebastian Pereira covers the Whitecaps for World Football Index, and is entering his second year of coverage. A fellow student of the BCIT Broadcast and Online Journalism program, Sebastian aims to cover the sport at a top level. Born in Colombia, Sebastian has always loved watching and following soccer, with some of his favourite memories being his country’s deep run in the 2014 World Cup, and Liverpool winning both the Champions League and Premier League in 2019/20.
