Will Malcom Be a Good Fit for FC Barcelona?

Malcom

Many people still wonder who is Malcom, the Brazilian striker FC Barcelona signed from Bordeaux for a €41 million transfer fee.

The 21-year-old is set to be the next world star as the Spanish club is making moves to return to the top of European club football.

How Malcom Will Fit With FC Barcelona

The Brazilian will play in La Liga of Spain after his magnificent three seasons in Ligue 1, where he scored 23 goals in 93 games with FC Girondins Bordeaux.

Ultimately, his talent would catapult him to a greater club. Roma pursued the Brazilian for a while and many reports say the Italians had the best chance to sign him. However, it was Barcelona that took the best part of it after a few conversations with Bordeaux.

Malcom will be the third Brazilian in Barcelona’s current squad, but how can he fit in the team?

Skillful

Malcom is a left-footed attacking winger who dribbles the ball seamlessly. The Brazilian can pass and shoot well but is also a playmaker as he assisted 12 times last season.

Anytime Malcom enters the penalty box it would be an assured goal especially if he’s in front of the goalkeeper.

He has developed mostly as a right winger and that position seems to be his perfect spot.

The young player can also play on the left-hand side, though Barcelona might take advantage with Messi and him on the pitch.

Roster

Barcelona’s squad will have more aggressiveness with Malcom on the roster.

This is the current squad:

Goalkeeper: Jasper Cillessen, Marc-André ter Stegen

Defenders: Nélson Semedo, Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Lucas Digne, Sergi Roberto, Yerry Mina, Thomas Vermaelen, Clément Lenglet.

Midfielders: Ivan Rakitić, Sergio Busquets, Denis Suárez, Philippe Coutinho, André Gomes, Aleix Vidal, Arthur, Malcom

Forwards: Luis Suárez, Lionel Messi (captain), Ousmane Dembélé, Paco Alcácer.

Manager: Ernesto Valverde.

Seeing that Paulinho and Andres Iniesta are no longer on the team, Malcom will have a great opportunity to shine at Camp Nou this season.

The Brazilian attacker will complement Ousmane Dembele, the other youngster on the roster. Even so, it’s likely that Malcom plays together with his fellow Brazilian Philippe Coutinho in the starting line up.

Barcelona management is looking into the future as they focus to dominate Europe again.

Starting line up

Barcelona has enough depth to make an impact in their domestic league, so their goal is to reclaim the UEFA Champions League trophy while Real Madrid is still recovering from Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
