Ola Kamara Signs Three-Year Contract With LA Galaxy

Kamara came to the Galaxy this off-season after he made a trade request with his original MLS team, Columbus Crew SC. Kamara signed in February 2016 with the club. In the last two seasons, he has scored 34 goals in 59 caps in league play. Only David Villa of New York City FC and Bradley Wright-Phillips of New York Red Bulls have scored more in the last two season.

“We are excited that Ola will remain with the LA Galaxy in the coming years. He has proven himself to be one of the most productive forwards in MLS over the past two seasons and we are confident that will continue as a member of our club. We look forward to him being a focal point in our offense,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach Sigi Schmid.

Kamara has played in every game this season so far for LA Galaxy, scoring in his debut against Portland Timbers. The 28-year-old came to MLS from Molde FK having played his entire professional career in Norway and Germany. Kamara came to the Galaxy in a trade involving Targeted Allocation Money and homegrown striker Gyasi Zardes. Kamara is currently on a TAM level contract.

The No. 9 represents his native country of Norway at the international level and has represented them in every level from Under-17 to the senior side. He has ten caps all time for the senior team, making his debut on Oct. 11, 2013. Most recently, he scored a hattrick in a 4-1 win over Australia in a friendly.
