Argentinean players keep their teams at the top in Europe

Gonzalo Higuain, Mauro Icardi, Lionel Messi and Nicolas Otamendi had a great weekend by scoring crucial goals in Europe and keeping their teams in the top of the position tables. The Argentinean players are playing well.

Argentinean players help their teams keep at the top in Europe:

Higuain kept Juventus in the top three in Italy’s Serie A after the 0-1 victory at Napoli. The Argentinean striker just shocked his former team by netting a goal in the 13th minute, giving Napoli its first defeat of the season .

After 15 matchups, Juve is third with 37 points, two behind the leaders, Inter Milan.

Icardi the Gold Boot

Mauro Icardi proved once again he deserved to be in the in the front pages of the news.

He scored the second goal of Inter in an untroubled 5-0 win over Chievo Verona and now the Milan’s team is the leader of Italy with 39 points.

For Icardi, it was his 16th goal of the season and his fifth in the last three games. He has surpassed the Italian foward Ciro Inmobile (15) in the leading scoring table.

Messi “The Pichichi”

Lionel Messi couldn’t be stopped in La Liga despite Barcelona drawing 2-2 at Celta de Vigo.

Messi tied the game 1-1 in the 22nd minute, and the Uruguayan Luis Suarez scored in the 62nd to keep Barca first in Spain with 36 points, five ahead of Valencia and eight ahead of Real Madrid.

With 12 goals in 14 matchdays, Messi is in his way to earn his fifth “Pichichi”, the trophy for the leading scoring of La Liga, and it would be his second in a row.

In the last game against Valencia, the referee denied a legit goal by the Argentinean at 29th, it would have been the opener at that game and his 13th of the season.

The Italian striker of Valencia Zimone Zaza is the closer threat to Messi with nine goals.

Unexpected hero

Nicolas Otamendi just netted his first goals of the year in a important 2-1 triumph of Manchester City versus West Ham United.

“Nico” appeared in the 57th minute, before the late goal (83rd minute) and Man City came for behind to remain at the top of the English Premier League with 43 points, while Manchester United is its  nearest rival with 35 points.

The last time Otamendi had reached the net was in May 6th in a 5-0 win against Crystal Palace in the 2016-17 season.
