LA Galaxy vs Toronto FC Preview

LA Galaxy

The LA Galaxy come into this game after a tough 1-1 result against Seattle Sounders. With recent form looking to be picking up, many Galaxy fans will be hopeful of the team gaining a result at home even against the likes of TFC. Head coach Sigi Schmid slowly looks to have found a way for his team to get results. A major part of that has been helping star forward Gyasi Zardes find form. During the last two games, Zardes has found the back of the net twice.

Another player that seems to be settling in is Jonathan dos Santos. The Mexican midfielder seems to be finding rhythm and adapting to life in the States. The Galaxy will need the likes of not just Zardes or JDS, but everyone to be at there best for this upcoming game. Hopes for qualifying for the playoffs are not lost but if they want to achieve that goal they will need to first gain the first of many tough three points in the remaining seven games left.

Toronto FC

The current runaway Supporters’ Shield leaders, Toronto FC come into this game in great form. They’ve won their last five games scoring three or more goals in all those matches. This side continuously shows how dangerous they are in attack. Manager Greg Vanney and his team have dominated opposition sides for most of the season and will look to do the same against the Galaxy.

Two players who have been crucial for them this season is Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco. The two have a combined total of 28 goals scored. That is more than half of what the Galaxy have scored this season. But earlier this week, Vanney said that neither will play against the Galaxy. Nevertheless, TFC will look to continue their great run of form with other dynamic weapons, including Victor Vazquez and Tosaint Ricketts. By doing so, they will continue to edge themselves closer to the playoffs and their goal of hoisting MLS Cup for the first time.

Last Word

With much to play for this Saturday, many can expect a highly contested game to be played. Both teams have much to prove in regards to their fans. One one side Toronto will be looking to keep their red hot form by getting the full three points. The Galaxy will be looking to not only pick up a win at home, but showcase to their fans that things are getting better. As a fan or a neutral this game promises to have not only plenty of action but a couple of goals as well. It wont be an easy game for any of these two sides but one thing is for sure, there will be action.
