Not to mention the fact that this game will see Schmid face off against his former team. As far as first games go, this will be a real test for the newly appointed manager.

LA Galaxy vs Seattle Sounders Preview

LA Galaxy

So much has surrounded the LA Galaxy camp these past months in regards to results, player injuries, rumors, you name it. After sacking Curt Onalfo and appointing Schmid as their new head coach, LA will be looking at this game as an opportunity to turn it all around. The team comes into this game having lost their last five matches. Schmid will be looking to get a result to kick off his second go-around as manager in style. But with so little time to work with the players it could seem impossible. On the bright side Sigi will have mostly a complete squad coming into this one. The defense will have to be on their best behavior against the potent attack of Seattle. If the Galaxy want to get a result it will be important to stay tight and not let Seattle get on the ball. It’s also worth mentioning that newly acquired signing Jonathan dos Santos will not be eligible for selection this match. The Mexican National team player will have to wait a little longer to get on the pitch.

Seattle Sounders

The Seattle Sounders come into this game on good form. After winning their last three games this team will feel ready and confident. Also, let’s not forget that in those three games they managed to score three or more goals which means offensively they’re going to be deadly. This is a team that did not have Jordan Morris in their attack during those games due to USMNT duty and now will have him available. Add on top of that the likes of Clint Dempsey also coming back from the Gold Cup and Seattle look favorites for this game. They also have Cristian Roldan picking up form which means the team is going to be well-rounded. While it hasn’t been the brightest of seasons for Seattle they’ll be looking to add to their tally against a weak Galaxy side whom they beat already. This team will not be shy and will try to expose the weaknesses of the Galaxy in order to win.
