Last Word SC MLS PIck 'Em - Week 18

The halfway point of the season continues to roll around for Major League Soccer‘s 22 teams. Heading into this week’s slate of games, 16 of 22 are at 17 or more games played. At the conclusion of the weekend, only Vancouver and Montreal won’t have reached the midpoint of their respective 2017 campaigns.

Not only are we picking the ten MLS matches this week. But the USMNT is back on our radar as they face Ghana in a pre-Gold Cup friendly in East Hartford, CT. The Yanks kick off Saturday’s action at 4:45 PM ET, followed by four MLS games starting at 7 PM ET. It includes an intriguing East-West showdown between FC Dallas and Toronto FC.

Later that night (10:30 PM ET), the second of three Cali Clasico clashes takes place as the San Jose Earthquakes host the LA Galaxy at Stanford Stadium. Just one game is on tap for Sunday, with the Philadelphia Union welcoming the New England Revolution to Talen Energy Stadium at 5 PM ET. Both teams are currently below the red line in the Eastern Conference and so find themselves in a must win situation.

Matt stole the show last week as the only writer to finish with ten wins. It’s his third win of the season and puts him in third place all by himself after him and Daniel were tied heading into week 17’s games. John still has the overall lead but lost a little ground to Robert who now trails him by just four. Things could get interesting as the season continues to progress.
