Only six MLS teams saw the field last week due to an international window. It forced us to add the USMNT’s two World Cup qualifying fixtures to our picks. But that’s not the case this week as all 22 teams are back in action.
The first game on tap takes place on Saturday afternoon as NYCFC welcomes the Seattle Sounders to Yankee Stadium for just the second time ever. After that, MLS fans have to wait a few hours before the next match starts at 7 PM (Columbus Crew SC at Atlanta United). But the night is chock full of action with nine games. It concludes with an 11 PM ET kickoff between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo at StubHub Center on Univision Deportes.
As busy as Saturday will be, Sunday is pretty much the opposite. Just one game is on tap as the New York Red Bulls travel to scenic PPL Park for a clash with the Philadelphia Union. ESPN will televise the match between the two I-95 foes.
John added to his lead in the standings last week as the only writer to have a winning record. But Robert trails by only three and can certainly overtake him if he aces his picks in week 16. There’s some distance between them and the rest of the field. But with the season only halfway complete, there’s still plenty of time them to get back in the game.
