Saturday, April 29th

Montreal Impact v. Vancouver Whitecaps, 3pm EST

It is always fun when the Canadian clubs get together. These sides are tied in MLS regular season play at 1-1-2. The Impact have not lost to the Whitecaps at home since the 2013 season. That is also the only game Vancouver has taken off of Montreal since both joined MLS.

New York Red Bulls v. Chicago Fire, 7:30pm EST

This might be the match of the weekend. All of the storylines are there. Dax McCarty returns for the first time to the place he called home for most of the last six years. The team captain landed in Chicago after a shock trade the day after his wedding. World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger hit the ground running since joining the team a month ago. The Fire’s improvement sees them with nearly the entire win total from last season by week 9.

New York Red Bulls have been lights out at home this year defensively. Despite early season struggles, NY climbed the table after two succesive home victories. Chicago is winless on the road this season, and will look to make a big statement at Red Bull Arena.

Sunday, April 30th

Atlanta United FC v. D.C. United, 3pm FS1

The battle of the best United might be coming to a close early this season. Atlanta devoured Minnesota during their home opener, and D.C. comes to Atlanta struggling. The 4-time cup winners are second only to Philadelphia in goals against this term for eastern conference teams, and Atlanta’s high powered attack may change that by Sunday afternoon. Atlanta is also looking to keep pace with the east’s emerging elite group, and may end up in second place if other results go their way.
