#AndNew: Tetsuya Endo Captures KO-D Openweight Championship

Tetsuya Endo

In the final battle of Dramatic Dream Team’s (DDT) major yearly show Peter Pan 2020Tetsuya Endo cashed in the Right To Challenge Sword, to take on the unstoppable Masato Tanaka for the KO-D Openweight Title. When the dust had settled after a hellacious battle Endo would be the one standing tall after delivering two shooting star presses. After the match promises were made to fight again at Saitama Super Arena, which was the original venue that Peter Pan 2020 was meant to take place in. In the immediate future, there’s an air of uncertainty where no one knows when, where, or who will be the next challenger.

This match was extremely important to Endo as last year he walked in as champion and lost the title to Konosuke Takeshita. And while he was on the quest to regain contendership through the D-Ou Grand Prix he fell to Masato Tanaka in the finals. Thus leaving the title out of his grasp for about a year. His hopes would ultimately fall onto the sword being held by stablemate Daisuke Sasaki. A back and forth in an elimination tag match would lead to the sword changing hands twice ending up with it being in Endo’s grasp. On DDT TV Show One he would lose it to Kazusada Higuchi. On a future DDT TV Show he would pin Akito to win a Right to Challenge Gauntlet and activated it to challenge for a shot at the sword. He would beat Higuchi and he would keep the sword until Peter Pan 2020.

In the meantime, his stable of DAMNATION turning into #DAMNHEARTS would lead to a momentum shift with the down on their luck stable going back on their winning ways. Including picking up some gold. At the end of the night, the stable would be holders of nearly half the titles in the company. Tetsuya Endo himself being a double champion being part of the six-man tag champions along with this newest achievement.
