Last night in the fight capital the ball dropped on the Future Stars of Wrestling (FSW) Heavyweight Title reign of Hammerstone and ushered in TwentyBeyTeen. Chris Bey survived 25 other competitors (It was a 26 Man Rumble) to win for the second year in a row, and then he did the double and won the Title too. It is a night Chris Bey won’t soon forget. The winner of this years Against All Odds Rumble earned a title shot in the Main Event.

It wasn’t easy. The final four competitors were Bey, his tag partner (Bag Boyz) Suede Thompson, Sefa Fatu, and Shogun Jones. Fatu and Jones teamed up and attacked the opposing duo without mercy. However, Chris and Suede would come back, first eliminating Shogun, and then kicked Sefa, and my hopes for being right, out of the ring. It didn’t take long for the former FSW Tag Team Champions to realize they were wrestling for a shot at gold, and the friend thing kinda went out the window. Both men fought like hell to eliminate the other until Bey finally eliminated Suede to earn the shot.
Chris Bey may be small in stature, but he can scrap with anyone. Whether it’s Watts in Hollywood, or Hammerstone in Las Vegas the kid shows up. He showed every bit of that toughness last night absorbing multiple slams and suplexes from The Business. Bey can take a ton of shots, but is perfectly cpable of delivering the same powerful offense. The youngster from Virginia connected with flying knees, kicks, and elbows to keep the Champion off balance. Hammerstone never looked comfortable with the speed of the twenty-two year old.
Then the referee got knocked out. Hammerstone had Bey in a pinning predicament, but the official was outside the ring. The Champ went to revive the downed official, and that’s when things changed. We all wondered when Hammerstone was going to pay for putting the boot to Taya Valkyrie in November at Beers and Bodyslams. We found out last night. Johnny Morrison/Impact came to the ring, took out the Champ with a neckbreaker, Chris Bey hit a Frog Splash, and The Business was closed. Now the Ultimate Finesser is no longer The Next Best Thing, he is THE CHAMP.
