Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared on AEW television for the first time ever tonight. He also knows his opponent for AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door as he will face AEW World Champion CM Punk.

Hiroshi Tanahashi Will Face CM Punk at AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door
CM Punk teamed with FTR to open up Dynamite against Max Caster and Austin and Colten Gunn. After Punk and FTR picked up the win, they took to the microphone. CM Punk addressed his victory this past weekend against Adam Page and Dax Harwood reiterated their love for professional wrestling and laid out a challenge to anyone who thinks they can take it to FTR.
Punk took the microphone back and turned his attention to NJPW and Forbidden Door. He asked for his opponent to be revealed and Tanahashi made his way to the ring. The two had a staredown before Tanahashi headed to the back.
CM Punk will have the hometown advantage as Forbidden Door will take place at the United Center in Chicago Illinois. The last time AEW was at the United Center CM Punk made his return to professional wrestling to a giant ovation from the hometown crowd. Tanahashi is the ace of New Japan Pro Wrestling and will be walking into enemy territory when AEW and NJPW head to Chicago Illinois.
