WWE has announced a special WWE NXT episode will air live from the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. WWE NXT will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the 2300 Arena, and air on the CW Network.
Now named after the street that the entrance is on, the 2300 Arena has had multiple names since it opened as the Viking Hall in 1986. But it became synonymous with ECW as the hardcore promotion ran shows there between 1993 and 2001.
AEW owner Tony Khan and rapper Action Bronson are among those who attended the ECW shows there. WWE will no doubt pay homage to ECW and its stars during the WWE NXT episode in Philadelphia.
Shawn Michaels Promises ‘Unforgettable Action’
WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels said they would honor the “rich history” of pro wrestling from the arena during the WWE NXT episode. “The city of Philadelphia has a rich wrestling history, and we are excited to bring a night of unforgettable action to such a storied venue,” Michaels said.
Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow (October 22, 2024). Fans can purchase tickets during an exclusive pre-sale by visiting 2300arena.com and using the code NXTLIVE starting tomorrow at 10 am ET /7 am PT until 11:59 am ET / 8:59 am PT.
NXT Hitting Heights
WWE NXT is currently building up to its special NXT Halloween Havoc show. This week’s NXT features main roster team Damage CTRL taking on Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson.
WWE NXT started airing on the CW this month with a special apperance by CM Punk. A collaboration with TNA, and exciting new stars such as Je’Von Evans, Ethan Page, Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer has meant NXT is hitting form again.
It celebrated its biggest-ever show last time it was in Philadelphia with 16,545 in attendance at Wells Fargo Center during WrestleMania weekend. WWE Raw emanates from the Wells Fargo tonight.
Meanwhile, GCW revealed this week it would return to another iconic ECW venue The Hammerstein Ballroom for its The People vs. GCW show in January 2025.
What if you could re-write history?
