Is Otis vs. Zayn Part Of Gable’s Clash At The Castle Strategy
WWE has done a great job at keeping the WWE Intercontinental Championship interesting since Gunther lost it to Sami Zayn. The prize had been so sought after that Zayn turned to Chad Gable to help strategize a way to prise it from Gunther. Although the deal was successful, it was tainted—a poisoned challis.
Gable feels that, as the mastermind, he is entitled to hold the gold. This privilege has fuelled a descent into darkness for Gable who has dragged his lovable buddy Otis down with him.
Otis has been manipulated by Gable to inflict punishment on whoever he sees fit. Otis turned on Zayn last week after the Intercontinental Champion accidentally knocked Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri from the apron.
This week, Otis faces Zayn one-on-one. Fans will once again be calling for Otis to turn on Gable. The strategy for Gable: make Otis soften up Zayn ahead of their Clash at the Castle Intercontinental Championship match.
Breakker vs. Dragunov On Raw
Here’s a match that’s a sign of what a great job the WWE Draft did to establish new stars. Ilja Dragunov was the breakout star from the King of the Ring tournament. Bron Breakker has been running roughshod on Raw since the Draft in protest of not being in the tournament.
Dragunov and Ricochet have been two of his targets. Breakker is enraged they were both in the tournament and have been afforded the chance to perform on Raw since.
Breakker defeated Ricochet last week. Post-match, he was about to crush Ricochet with the ring steps when Dragunov made the save.
Breakker will meet Dragunov in the ring in what could be the most intense match seen on WWE TV in a long time.
What Else on Clash at the Castle Go-Home Show
Last week, a chaotic IYO SKY in shiny trousers attacked Lyra Valkyria. SKY is still fuming that Valkyria beat her in the Queen of the Ring. The two will meet again this week.
What a time to be Drew McIntyre. The trailer for his first blockbuster movie with Dave Bautista dropped this week. And he gets to headline a PLE in his home country of Scotland.
It is totally irrelevant how the Ohio crowd reacts to Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre’s final head-to-head on Raw before they meet at Clash at the Castle. McIntyre will be the huge favorite in Scotland in their World Heavyweight Championship match.
Liv Morgan will continue to tease Dominik Mysterio. Dom Dom will inevitably give in to Morgan’s advances soon.
Two years ago at the inaugural Clash at the Castle, Dom turned on his father and joined The Judgement Day.
We could see him turn on his group for Morgan on Saturday so this WWE Raw could mark his final appearance as a faction member.
