IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory (10/18/23) – Full Card and Preview

IMPACT Wrestling presents the 2023 edition of Bound for Glory live from Cicero Stadium in the suburbs of Chicago Illinois. The biggest night of the year for IMPACT Wrestling is stacked with high stakes title belts, and incredible matchups. A common thread runs between both main event matchups as Josh Alexander and Mickie James both try to reclaim titles that they never lost. Both Alexander and James had to relinquish their titles due to injury and were not pinned or submitted. Other key matchups include the Call Your Shot Gauntlet matchup, where the winner can cash in for any title shot at any time.

We have seen this used on the very same night as Moose cashed in on Josh Alexander moments after he won the IMPACT World Championship in 2021. The always violent Monster’s Ball match also makes its return. The card beings at 8pm eastern time with a pre-show that includes the Hall of Fame induction of Traci Brooks, Mike Tenay, and Don West into the Hall of Fame at 7:30pm eastern time. First-Time Title Matchup

Mickie James is one of the most decorated Knockouts to ever step into an IMPACT Wrestling ring. She has held the IMPACT Knockouts Championship five times throughout her storied career. Her last reign ended with a forced vacation of the title, due to an injury. Trinity has since become Knockouts Champion for the first time in her career, cementing herself as the wrestler to beat in the IMPACT Knockouts division. Things came to a head at the historic 1,000th episode of IMPACT Wrestling when James returned to the ring to be part of a massive 10-Knockout tag match. The following week, Trinity was on the wrong end of a numbers game when James made the save. Although James came to help Trinity she also came to deliver some news, her contractually obligated rematch had been scheduled for the 2023 edition of Bound for Glory.

You could say this match is the past versus the future of the Knockouts Division. In James’s eyes, however, she is still the heart of the Knockouts Division. The experience edge goes to James while the raw athletic advantage goes to Trinity. James wants to prove she still has what it takes to carry the division, while Trinity wants to prove that her hold on the Knockouts division is only just beginning.

Alexander Gets a Shot at a Belt He Never Lost

Josh Alexander had a historic title reign as IMPACT World Champion. The history books show that Alexander is the longest-reigning IMPACT World Champion in the history of the belt. If he had not been injured while defending the belt, the record-setting reign may still be running. In his absence, Steve Maclin became champion. This was until Alex Shelley got his chance to win a world title. After years of helping others and working in the tag team and X-Division, Shelley finally put his name on the IMPACT World Championship.

The two have a mutual respect for each other and both have been seen as long shots to win a major championship at different points in their careers. The passion that both men have for professional wrestling is obvious. This match will display two great technical wrestlers trying to outmaneuver one another. Alexander never lost the title, but Shelley has earned it and will do everything in his power to keep the title around his waist. This one could really go either way and the fans live in Cicero and watching on FITE TV are in for a treat at Bound for Glory.
