This week AEW Dark Elevation provides another light but promising offering with four matches set. Ashley D’Amboise looks to rebound from her loss to Athena, but that will be easier said than done against the returning Maki Itoh. Matt Hardy and Isaiah Kassidy continue to enjoy being free from The Firm as they face off with Brett Gosselin and Bobby Orlando. Our focus will be on the debut of Mizuki as she faces the underrated Emi Sakura.

Emi Sakura vs. Mizuki
After suffering back-to-back singles losses to ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, and Taya Valkyrie, Emi Sakura will be looking to rebound. Mizuki, on the other hand, is looking to make a strong impression in her AEW debut. For those unfamiliar, Mizuki has primarily competed in TJPW, where she is the current Princess of Princess Champion. She captured the title with a win over former ROH title challenger Yuka Sakazaki.
Though Mizuki has proven herself against elite competition, I do not see her picking up the win here. Most of Emi’s losses in singles action have been to either active or former champions. She also holds a victory over Mizuki, having competed against each other in DPW.
Mizuki could prove me wrong and pull off the upset, but I will stick with Emi getting back in the win column. It will be a great match worth tuning in for!
