Blake Christian Faces AKIRA in First-Time Match

One of the matches to look forward to at GCW Holy Smokes sees the attitudinal Blake Christian battle the fearless AKIRA. To say that Christian’s recent attitude has left something to be desired would be an understatement. Case in point, in the semifinals of the Jersey J-Cup that took place last month, Christian fell to “Speedball” Mike Bailey in the semifinals. Post-match, Christian snapped and attacked the official, planting her with a DDT in the center of the ring before fleeing the ring. This has been the most recent in a long line of questionable, at best, decisions made by the high-flying “Air Blake.” However, this Saturday, he faces a new challenge in the form of “The Death Fighter,” AKIRA. Despite being a deathmatch star, he has proven himself as a hybrid wrestler, which will be especially useful in this upcoming match. Expect this one to keep fans in attendance at The Showboat and those watching at home on the edge of their collective seat.

VENY Makes Her GCW Debut

Considered to be one of the best freelance wrestlers in the world today, the groundbreaking VENY will make her Game Changer Wrestling debut this weekend. Also known as ASUKA in her home country of Japan, VENY has captured the attention of wrestling fans with her combination of in-ring savvy and undeniable charisma. She was dubbed “the world’s first genderless wrestler,” defying expectations and finding her way into immense success. In Japan, she became a world champion in promotions including Pro Wrestling WAVE and SEAdLINNNG and it’s only a matter of time until she finds similar success stateside. At GCW Holy Smokes, she continues to break ground as she takes on GCW’s resident “Bad Boy,” the company’s reigning Extreme Champion, Joey Janela. Having come up short in the semifinals of this year’s Jersey J-Cup, Janela will intend to get back to his winning ways. However, to do so at the expense of a motivated VENY will be easier said than done.

Rina Yamashita Defends the Ultraviolent Title at GCW Holy Smokes

In title action, Rina Yamashita defends the GCW Ultraviolent Championship against Kasey Kirk. Currently in her first reign as Ultraviolent Champion, “The Deathmatch Amazon” captured the aforementioned gold this past August at GCW Homecoming, where she bested Alex Colon on Night One. Since then, Yamashita amassed four successful title defenses, picking up wins against the likes of Cole Radrick and Mance Warner in hellacious competition. Yamashita is scheduled to make her fifth GCW Ultraviolent Championship defense against Create a Pro Wrestling alumna Kasey Kirk, who will be making her GCW debut proper this Saturday. Kirk has seen modest success on the independent scene, including a brief reign as American Deathmatch World Champion for ICW No Holds Barred. In short, the Poughkeepsie native has an affinity for deathmatch wrestling in her own respect. Can this affinity lead her to secure more championship gold in Atlantic City?
