It’s time for AEW Dark Elevation, and this card is loaded with eleven matches set to take place this evening! Eddie Kingston and Ortiz are set to take on the debuting Midnight Heat, Ricky Gibson, and Eddie Pearl. Matt Hardy and Isaiah Kassidy are scheduled to take to the ring, but their opponents remain a mystery. Our focus will be on the ROH World Championship as Claudio Castagnoli defends his belt against Varsity Athletes’ Josh Woods.

ROH World Championship Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Josh Woods

Claudio Castagnoli will not only look to make his first title defense since winning the championship back from Chris Jericho at Final Battle, but he will also be competing in his first singles match since his encounter with Jericho. He’ll face off with former ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods.

While Woods is a great competitor, a few things are working against him in this contest. First, he has not wrestled a singles match since September, where he failed to dethrone Samoa Joe as the ROH World Television Champion. Secondly, Woods has not had much success against Castagnoli’s Blackpool Combat Club apprentice in Wheeler Yuta. Given that Yuta has defeated Woods twice and Castagnoli’s unmatched momentum, I see Claudio retaining the belt here.

It will be a thrilling night of action, so be sure to tune in!
