All Elite Wrestling kicked off 2023 in Seattle Washington for the first Dynamite of the year. In his hometown, Darby Allin became the TNT Champion for the second time in his career.

The action started early as the two brawled outside the ring before the bell rang. This saw Darby use his signature skateboard to attack Joe. As Joe was recovering from the shots with the skateboard, Darby ran backstage and returned with a large ladder. He scaled the ladder and jumped from the top landing on Joe who was just getting back to his feet on the entrance ramp.
Joe retook control once the match got inside the ring, but Darby Allin was not ready to go down in his hometown. He rallied with a code red which he then turned into multiple coffin drops to seal the victory in his hometown. He did this with his trainer, Buddy Wayne’s son Nick Wayne ringside. Joe attacked Nick Wayne prior to the start of the match, leading to Darby diving out of the ring to attack Joe.
AEW promised a refreshed look in the new year. Along with a remixed theme song and new stage design, they crowned a new TNT Champion in Darby Allin tonight.
