As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the Dynamite Grand Slam show did 1.039 million viewers and scored a demo of 0.35. While on the surface some may see that as a disappointment due to the show being loaded with title matches, it was good enough to earn them the top spot among cable originals on the night. When including primetime broadcasts in the data, the show finished 14th on the night across all channels.
The September 21 edition of AEW Dynamite featured Chris Jericho defeating Claudio Castagnoli for the ROH World Championship, PAC defending the All Atlantic Championship, The Acclaimed winning the AEW tag team titles, and Toni Storm defending the interim women’s title. Saraya, formerly Paige, made her surprise debut and likely could have caused a bump in the AEW ratings if she had been announced, but we’re happy she got the surprise reaction.
As of this writing, there is nothing officially announced for next week’s Dynamite.
