ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022 Predictions
Samoa Joe Returns to ROH
Samoa Joe ended Supercard of Honor with his surprise return to the promotion. He made his return by stopping Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt from attacking Jonathan Gresham who had just unified the ROH World Championship in a match against Bandido. Lethal and Joe brought their feud to AEW shortly after Supercard of Honor. Joe defeated Minoru Suzuki to become the ROH World Television Champion a couple of weeks later on Dynamite, but Lethal and Dutt weren’t far behind as they would introduce Satnam Singh to AEW following the match. Joe was attacked by the trio at Double or Nothing injuring his shoulder. Now Joe will get the chance to even the score with the trio and retain the Television Title at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022.
Prediction – Joe retains
The Professor Challenges Mercedes Martinez
Mercedes Martinez defeated Deonna Purrazzo to become ROH World Women’s Champion. Since then Martinez and Serena Deeb teamed up on AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. The duo was undefeated but Deeb made it clear, that her goal was to get a shot at Martinez and the ROH World Women’s Championship. Following their match on the July 8th AEW Rampage, Deeb turned on her tag team partner, confirming she wanted her shot at Martinez. Now at Death Before Dishonor, Deeb has the chance to dethrone Martinez. Martinez has made four successful defenses against Trish Adora, Hyan, Mazzerati, and Viva Van. Can she make it five in a row? Find out this Saturday night.
Prediction – Deeb wins
The Rematch of the Year
FTR and The Briscoes locked up at Supercard of Honor earlier this year with the ROH World Tag Team Championships on the line. The feud kicked off at Final Battle 2021 when FTR crashed The Briscoes celebration following The Briscoes’ historic 12th title win. The match was made official for Supercard of Honor and the two teams delivered a nearly 30-minute instant classic. FTR became champions during that match, dethroning the most well-decorated team in ROH history.
Now the two teams will square off again. The two had a sit-down a couple of weeks ago with a no-contact agreement. Things became tense during the face-off and the end result was this match becoming 2 out of 3 falls. They pushed each other to their limits at Supercard of Honor. We know they will do the same at Death Before Dishonor. Regardless of who walks out of ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022, the fans are in for a special match between these four.
Predictions – FTR retains
A New Attitude for “The Foundation”
Jonathan Gresham has been seen as the one to lead Ring of Honor into the new era for the promotion. He shocked many when he betrayed Lee Moriarty on the July 8th edition of AEW Rampage and joined Tully Blanchard Enterprises. He went on to defeat Moriarty in an ROH World Championship match the following week on Rampage. After the match, he cut a promo where he claimed to be the best wrestler in the world. Claudio Castagnoli then made his way through the entrance tunnel, seeming to challenge that statement. Castagnoli was a key part of ROH from 2005 to 2011. He is a two-time ROH Tag Team Champion alongside Chris Hero as The Kings of Wrestling. He would love nothing more than to add the ROH World Title to his resume this Saturday night.
Prediction – Gresham retains
