Preview: WWE SmackDown (7/1/22) – Money in the Bank Go-Home Show

WWE SmackDown Money in the Bank Go Home Show

One day away from Money in the Bank, in Las Vegas, the go-home edition of Friday Night SmackDown is live in the state capital of Arizona as stories conclude headed into the Big Five event.

WWE SmackDown (7/1/22) Preview

Point One: Who has the momentum heading into Money in the Bank?

With the two primary matches of the evening being the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank matches, the questions are, who are the people heading into the match, who are the favorites heading into the match, and who are the dark horses?

From the SmackDown side of the franchise, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shotzi are the blue brand representatives heading into the match. When it comes to momentum, Rodriguez and Evans are the two with the most momentum on the SmackDown side, compared to Liv Morgan, Asuka, and Becky Lynch on the Monday Night Raw side. With stories continuing to develop heading into the titular event, it’s a matter of time before the WWE Universe finds out their seventh women’s winner.

As for the men, representing SmackDown are Sami Zayn, Drew McIntyre & Sheamus with a potential qualifying opponent decided this Friday. The main question is, who? Will it be another Smackdown Superstar or a Raw Superstar? That will be determined on the Money in the Bank go-home edition of SmackDown as well.

Point Two: How is the Island of Relevancy Going to Fall for The Usos?

The Street Profits have considerable momentum heading into the Money in the Bank this weekend. With the proper motivation, it seems that the Chicago-based duo, the tag team triple crown winners, are the ones with the edge.

The Usos have lost many matches against the Profits. With last week having Drew McIntyre and Sheamus winning their qualifying match, is it the Profits’ time to shine?

Point Three: Where is Pat McAfee Going With His Antics?

Lately, it seems that Pat McAfee has brought about a more volatile version of Happy Corbin. McAfee has constantly been calling Corbin names, making the audience laugh at him, and verbally running the former Constable down.

Despite Corbin not being on the card heading into Money in the Bank, what does it mean heading into SummerSlam in a few weeks’ time?

Plenty of questions stand to be answered heading into Vegas. As hot as Phoenix and Vegas get, it’s a matter of how much heat is going to be in the Talking Stick Resort Arena as we close in on Money in the Bank.
