Johnny was welcomed to AEW by none other than Ring of Honor (ROH) World Television Champion Samoa Joe. Johnny has gone by many ring names in his career including John Morrison, Johnny Nitro, Johnny Mundo, and Johnny IMPACT. He has competed for WWE, IMPACT, Lucha Underground, GCW, AAA, and many other promotions. Johnny Elite is known for his high flying ability, which was displayed during his first match in an AEW ring.
Johnny has picked up two big wins recently in GCW and AAA. He defeated Simon Gotch (competing as John Henning) at GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 8. He also defeated Jack Cartwheel at the inaugural GCW Gringo Loco’s The Wrld on Lucha. He and Taurus also defeated Dragon Lee and Dralistico/Jack Cartwheel and Laredo Kid at AAA TripleMania XXX: Monterrey.
Johnny has a history with both singles and tag team wrestling. He was a part of the MNM tag team as part of WWE from 2004 to 2006. He has also held singles championships in IMPACT, AAA, Lucha Underground, and other promotions.
Although he did not win his first match in an AEW ring fans are likely to see more of Johnny Elite very soon.
