WWE Raw comes to us live from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The same arena where Roddy Piper defeated Bret Hart to win the WCW United States Championship in 1999. That same title will be defended on this night as well. Let’s see what’s in store on this WWE Raw card.
WWE Raw Card for April 18, 2022
Lets Try Again
Originally set for last week before it was postponed with no real explanation outside of a short line of Rhea Ripley being “on protocol”. This week we will hopefully get Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan vs Sasha Banks and Naomi for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. It was set up originally the Raw after Wrestlemania, despite just losing to the Champions earlier in the show and storming off, Rhea Ripley somehow secured said title match which delighted Liv Morgan.
We’re very clearly en route to Rhea turning on Liv Morgan, with rumors of her also joining Edge’s new cult group running around some websites. Unfortunately, it has been prolonged due to circumstances leading to a set of singles matches where the we see the rather tedious 50/50 booking.
THEORY Of A Title Match
He’s just Theory now. Silly as that may sound, THEORY was granted the well-expected United States Championship match against Finn Balor. After weeks of pinning him (and that one Raw where he pinned Intercontinental Champion Ricochet instead) in various matches, the title match has been set for tonight.
It seems like almost a given that Vince McMahon’s golden boy will walk away with the gold, especially given how the midcard champions are being treated these days by WWE and given past patterns with said titles. It seems like the only real way to go.
A Double Wedding And A Lie Detector Test
Yeah, really. We’ve seen for weeks this weird romance story going on between Reggie and Dana Brooke as well as Akira Tozawa & Tamina. R Truth will be preceding over the ceremony as we continue our 24/7 shenanigans.
But on top of that, we also have Kevin Owens, Wrestlemania headliner Kevin Owens, opting to administer Ezekiel to a lie detector test. As Kevin continues to insist, Ezekiel isn’t Elias’ younger brother. He IS Elias.
Other Things To Look Forward To
Sonya Deville has forced her way into a Raw Women’s title match against Bianca Belair at Wrestlemania Backlash. The question is if her scheme, which has already shown dissension with Adam Pearce, will put her job as a WWE official in jeopardy.
Rumors of Alexa Bliss returning to TV have been circulating, as websites have reported that there are plans for her. Will this be the night to see her return?
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins II has been confirmed for Wrestlemania Backlash. But what will we see in the meantime? Will Seth show his true colors? Or has Cody truly won his respect?
Veer Mahaan debuted last week and attacked Dominik to the point that he required medical assistance. Originally, Veer was set to face Rey Mysterio who was absent with no explanation. Will Rey seek revenge for his son?
