Suzuki’s title reign was short-lived as he just captured the title at Supercard of Honor from Rhett Titus. This was the first defense of the title for Suzuki.
Although Joe had a historic ROH World Championship run in Ring of Honor this is the first time he has held the ROH Television Championship. The celebration of his championship win was short-lived, however.
Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt were ringside for the match. They turned on Jonathan Gresham at Supercard of Honor after Gresham’s historic title win which set the stage for Joe’s historic return to ROH. After the match, they jumped the barricade and grabbed a microphone to rain on Joe’s parade.
The lights went out in the arena and when they came back on Satnam Singh was standing in the ring behind Joe. Singh made his AEW debut in a big way as he helped Lethal and Dutt beat down Samoa Joe. Supercard of Honor showed a different side of both Lethal and Dutt and they seem to have recruited Singh to help them continue their dishonorable ways.
