Northeast Championship Wrestling is back in Dedham for The NCW Slammy-Formal, a night focused around The Ox Baker Memorial Cup. Only two matches have been made official as of this writing, but the regular cast of NCW will be on hand along with what will likely be any number of surprises as well.

The NCW Slammy-Formal – What to Know
The NCW Slammy-Formal will feature matches throughout the night which will see wrestlers qualify to go into the main event match which will be for The Ox Baker Memorial Cup, the holder of which is granted a title shot of their choosing. The only qualifying match announced thus far is…
Osirus vs The Lumberjake
When talking about bad blood, Osirus had his hand in the screwjob late last year which took the NCW Heavyweight Title from The Lumberjake to BRG. The Lumberjake has certainly not forgotten this and defeating Osirus on the way to reclaiming that championship from BRG seems fitting. However, when Osirus came back and cost The Lumberjake that championship, Osirus came back with a seemingly new sense of purpose. Osirus could be poised to win The Ox Baker Memorial Cup and receive a title shot- which he could very well win- of his choosing.
With the announcements of tag team action, a three way dance and even a Last Chance Battle Royal, it will be interesting to see who shows up where. Da Hoodz could find themselves in tag team action, while Perry Von Vicious and members of The League of Excellence could be part of a three way dance. It feels like those who do not advance by winning throughout the night will get that final opportunity in the Last Chance Battle Royal.
As far as championships go, “Riot” Kellan Thomas (the NCW New England Champion), BRG (the NCW Heavyweight Champion) and Little Mean Kathleen (the NCW Women’s Champion) are all scheduled to appear, but whether they will be defending their titles remains a mystery. Jessie Nolan has been advertised, as has Isana via the League of Excellence, so along with them there could also be Elle Valentine, Paris Van Dale, Shannon LeVangie, and Delilah Hayden in action.
Northeast Championship Wrestling has pulled out the surprises in the past. There is nothing stopping someone like Anthony Greene from coming in and challenging either BRG or “Riot” Kellan Thomas for a championship. “Insane” Dick Lane, Steve “The Turtle” Weiner, Gal Barkay, and CPA could all make surprise appearances. That element of surprise is really one of the strongest points for the selling of the show!
The one title match which has been announced is…
Vern Vicallo & Channing Thomas (c) vs The DCMC (NCW Tag Team Championship Match)
The Dirt City Murder Crew– Mike Montero and Jason Devine– have had their share of problems and it feels like perhaps their civil war might not be over yet. On the other hand, Vern Vicallo and Channing Thomas, who are the NCW Tag Team Champions, have come together rather well this year to the point where some might even call them Naturally Vicious. Perhaps though the one thing The DCMC need to feel whole again are the tag team titles. This is going to be quite a fight.
As wrestlers advance throughout the night, this whole show will culminate with someone winning the Ox Baker Memorial Cup. Who will it be and what title shot will they choose are the questions which should have you in Dedham, MA on Friday, April 8th 2022. For tickets and more info, please visit: https://thencw.com/
