NJPW STRONG: Strong Style Evolved Night 1 Full Card
Team Filthy (JR Kratos and Black Tiger) vs. CHAOS (Rocky Romero and Wheeler Yuta)
On the final night of the Rivals Tour, we saw Rocky Romero square off with Black Tiger in one on one action. Although Tiger got the win, Rocky Romero locked in an armbar after the match, continuing the feud between the two. Romero once wore the Black Tiger mask. Now this iteration of Black Tiger is determined to make Romero’s life as hard as possible. Now this week on STRONG, Romero will team with fellow CHAOS teammate Wheeler Yuta to take on Black Tiger and his Team Filthy teammate JR Kratos. Can Romero finally get one up on the man behind the mask? Will he finally find out who is behind this incarnation of Black Tiger? Find out this week on STRONG!
TMDK (JONAH and Shane Haste) vs. FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson)
JONAH made his NJPW Strong debut at Battle of the Valley, at the expense of FinJuice. Since then FinJuice has had multiple encounters with JONAH. At Strong Style Evolved Night 1, the two will square up again, this time with Shane Haste teaming with JONAH. Haste injected himself into the rivalry during the RIVALS Tour. He helped JONAH win a tag match that included Bad Dude Tito. After the match a beatdown on FinJuice took place. Things got personal when David Finlay’s younger brother Brogan Finlay who had competed earlier in the night was also attacked as David Finlay was forced to look on. This feud is more personal than ever, and will come to a head this weekend on STRONG!
STRONG Openweight Championship: Tom Lawlor (c) vs. Clark Connors
Tom Lawlor will defend his STRONG Openweight Championship in the main event of Night 1 of Strong Style Evolved. He is the only person to have held the STRONG Openweight Championship and has no intentions of losing it to Clark Connors. Connors scored a big win over TJP during the New Beginning USA Tour. He called out Lawlor afterward and was taken up on his challenge. During an elimination tag match as part of the RIVALS Tour Connors speared Lawlor to the floor which eliminated both men. Although Connors eliminated himself, he sent a strong message to Lawlor. Connors is not to be taken lightly in this match. Will be the one to end the inaugural reign of Lawlor?
