The Belt Collector Seeks Gold at PowerrrTrip
In the main event of this week’s NWA Powerrr, Matt Cardona challenges Trevor Murdoch for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. This feud dates back to Hard Times 2, where Murdoch defended his title against Mike Knox. Cardona debuted for the National Wrestling Alliance at this event, ending the night by holding “The Ten Pounds of Gold” while the champion was left laying. Since then, Cardona established himself as an enemy of the company, wanting to inject new life in a brand he saw as dated. As the flagbearer of sorts for the NWA, Murdoch didn’t take kindly to Cardona’s words.
PowerrrTrip, Part 3 will see these two men fight over the company’s top prize. The self-proclaimed “Michael Jordan of wrestling figure collecting” hasn’t been shy about collecting wrestling titles across the industry at large. From independent organizations such as New York Wrestling Connection to more well-known entities including IMPACT Wrestling, Cardona made his mark everywhere he’s been. Murdoch will be an extra challenge, however, as he’s not only fighting to defend his title but the honor of the National Wrestling Alliance to boot. Can Cardona add the NWA world title to his arsenal or will this be one accolade that eludes him?
