Dolph Ziggler Captures NXT Championship
The celebration started early as Ziggler’s tag team partner Robert Roode who is a former NXT Champion celebrated the championship win with Ziggler. Breakker was visibly mad at his championship loss. Breakker won the title from Ciampa at the New Year’s Evil edition of NXT 2.0. His reign ended tonight after a little over a two month reign as champion. Ciampa who is a former two time NXT Champion was unable to regain the title tonight in the triple threat as well.
Ziggler adds the NXT Championship to his list of accomplishments in WWE. Ziggler is also a former World Heavyweight Champion, United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Smackdown Tag Team, Raw Tag Team, and World Tag Team Champion. He has also won the Money in the Bank ladder match once. Ziggler is recognized as the 22nd Grand Slam Champion in the history of WWE.
With this win, we can expect to see more of Ziggler on NXT 2.0. We will see in the coming weeks who will step up and be the first challenger for Ziggler. Whoever steps into the ring with him will have a tough test ahead as Ziggler is a veteran and has a long championship history.
