Preview: Gatoh Move ChocoPro #199 (2/11/22) – Season 12 Premiere

ChocoPro 199

It’s time for another season of Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling’s long-running YouTube wrestling show. ChocoPro #199 marks the Season 12 Premiere of the show in question and there’s plenty to anticipate, especially given that the landmark two-day 200th episode is just around the corner. Before this time comes, however, one can look at this episode as a primer for what to expect. We will also see some cross-promotional work in the main event. Here’s what to know as we enter a new season live on the official Gatoh Move YouTube channel.

ChocoPro #199 – Full Card

Sayaka Obihiro vs Kappa Kozo

Sayaka Obihiro vs. Kappa Kozo

Opening ChocoPro #199 is the latest showdown between “The Blue Heart” of ChocoPro and the mischievous wrestling veteran yokai. Sayaka Obihiro has been at odds with Kappa Kozo, in terms of the Gatoh Move universe, since this past fall. However, in the broader scope of professional wrestling, said history goes back further. The two first faced off in December of 2011 in Ice Ribbon. In this match, Obihiro teamed with Ray and current International Ribbon tag team titleholder Hamuko Hoshi to best Kozo, Rubber Man, and Death Worm. Obihiro and Kozo crossed paths a few times since then over the years, but it was in Ichigaya Chocolate Square that matters between them intensified.

The beginning of ChocoPro Season 12 is important for a few reasons. Most importantly, it can shift the momentum in any competitor’s favor, provided they come away with that first big victory. Obihiro’s experience has led her to success on multiple occasions, though it can be argued that her success the season prior left something to be desired. Of the 12 matches she wrestled in Season 11, she only won 2. Meanwhile, Kozo has been nothing short of a thorn in not just the side of “Obi” but Masahiro Takanashi, the latter of whom also crossed paths with the yokai over the years. See how this match unfolds on ChocoPro #199.

TropiKawaild (SAKI and Yuna Mizumori) vs. Kaori Yoneyama and Chie Koishikawa

The main event of ChocoPro #199 sees the reunion of TropiKawaild. “The Pineapple Girl” Yuna Mizumori will team with SAKI, who’s her fellow multi-time Asia Dream Tag Team Championship holder as well as one-half of the current Pro Wrestling WAVE Tag Team Champions alongside Hikari Shimizu. To say that TropiKawaild is a standout duo in Gatoh Move would be an understatement. This is true not only for their status as former Asia Dream tag team titleholders but the winners of the first-ever One of a Kind Tag League. If there’s any team that’s the one to defeat, aside from the current champions in Best Bros, it would be “Yunamon” and SAKI. Thus, TropiKawaild closing out the first episode of Season 12 is appropriate.

A victory won’t come easily for the former Asia Dream Tag Team Champions, however, as they’ll have to contend with experience and energy alike. Wily veteran Kaori Yoneyama will be working alongside the exuberant Chie Koishikawa in what will be their third time teaming. On the Season 11 Finale episode, Yoneyama and Koishikawa battled in the main event. Despite “Chiezo’s” best efforts, it was her elder that picked up the victory. Now, on the Season 11 Premiere edition of ChocoPro, the two will have to work together. As a team, they are 1-1, so this match could make or break their current record. Can they pick up a victory at the expense of TropiKawaild?

ChocoPro #199 will air on February 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM JST (February 10, 2022 at 8:00 PM EST).
